Following a convincing 47-15 win over Rutgers on Saturday night, the Indiana Hoosiers are off to a 5-0 start and have extended their winning streak to 21 games. As we've seen before, Curt Cignetti tends to have his team playing better and better as the season goes on. Hoosier fans are hoping that trend continues, as the schedule gets a whole lot tougher from here.
In Week 6, Indiana hits the road once again. This time the Hoosiers are heading west to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in a matchup between a pair of 5-0 teams. It starts a tough stretch of matchups for Indiana that also features battles against No. 5 Ohio State, at Michigan, vs Minnesota, and No. 19 USC.

Indiana can't afford to overlook Nebraska in any way
The Ohio State Buckeyes come to Bloomington in Week 7 for what is one of the most anticipated games of the entire college football season. Thus, this matchup at Nebraska can be considered a classic look-ahead spot for Indiana. But the Hoosiers can't afford to let their guard down.
Nebraska has been a middle to bottom-tier Big Ten program in recent years. The Scott Frost era was brutal, and the Matt Rhule era hasn't been able to pick up much steam yet. However, the Huskers are playing solid football right now and are coming off back-to-back wins over Michigan State and Maryland by a combined score of 79-36. Memorial Stadium in Lincoln is always rocking, and in a matchup between a pair of undefeated teams, it is sure to be raucous environment once again.
Indiana has faced Nebraska once under Cignetti's leadership, and it resulted in a lopsided 56-7 Hoosier win back on Oct. 19, 2024. Nebraska had 5-star freshman Dylan Raiola at QB in that matchup, and he is now off to Oregon. Anthony Colandrea is now leading the Husker offense, and he brings a solid mix of talent and experience to the table. Now in his fourth year as a college football starting quarterback, Colandrea has completed 65.7% of his passes for 1,142 yards and 13 touchdowns with just two interceptions this season. He's also added 249 yards and a pair of scores on the ground. With a much more experienced starter at the helm, the IU defense has to be ready for whatever Colandrea and the Cornhuskers throw at them.
On paper, the Hoosiers have a talent edge over the Cornhuskers. They also have the best coach in the country leading the way. That should give IU fans plenty of confidence heading into this Week 6 clash. But still, it's imperative that the Hoosiers don't overlook the Huskers in any way. Kick-off is set for Noon ET on FOX.
