2025 four star recruit Kelvin Odih has told Jamie Shaw of On3 Sports that he has de-committed from West Virginia.

This coming after former West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries accepted the offer from Indiana to become their next men's head basketball coach on Tuesday.

In 2023-24, Odih was named the Rhode Island Gatorade State Player of the Year after averaging 19.1 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 3.2 blocked shots per game and led his team to the state title game. This past season 2024-25, he transferred to SoCal Academy in Castaic, California.

He is currently the No. 64 ranked player in the 2025 On3 150. He is the No. 18 ranked shooting guard in the recruiting cycle, and currently the No. 8 ranked senior in California.

His teammate at So Cal Academy in California, Trent Maclean is also a former WVU Mountaineer commit who recently asked for his release from the 2025 class.

Before committing to WVU, Odih also held offers from Penn State, Rhode Island, Rutgers, Creighton, Marquette, Colorado and others before ultimately deciding that he would commit to the Mountaineers and Darian DeVries.

This is a situation to watch as one of the top 2025 prospects has decided that he will play elsewhere. DeVries will work on building his roster and hopefully can seal commits from Odih, Maclean and many more to turnover this Hoosiers roster.
