The good news just keeps rolling in for the Indiana Hoosiers athletic department. Beyond a National Championship in football, the Hoosiers just received a big-time win for the men's basketball in the shape of a four-star recruit.
Trevor Manhertz, a four-star small forward in the class of 2027, just committed to Indiana, choosing the Hoosiers and head coach Darian DeVries over the likes of the Duke Blue Devils, the Louisville Cardinals, and more.
Then, making his commitment that much sweeter, Manhertz announced he was reclassifying to the class of 2026, meaning he could join the Hoosiers in Bloomington a calendar year earlier than initially expected.

As the No. 15 small forward in the class of 2027 and the No. 3 overall prospect out of North Carolina, Manhertz went slightly underecruited and didn't even receive offers from most of the powerhouse programs in his home state: the UNC Tar Heels, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, or NC State Wolfpack.
However, the Blue Devils and head coach Jon Scheyer extended him an offer, and yet he still chose to bring his talents to Bloomington.

Manhertz joins an Indiana recruiting class of 2026 that had just two commits prior to his decision: four-star small forward Vaughn Karvala and four-star combo guard Prince-Alexander Moody, who both already signed their Letters of Intent.
Before his announcement, the Hoosiers' incoming recruiting class ranked 34th in the national standings, but would undeniably soar following his commitment.
During his junior season, he averaged 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.4 steals for Green Level High School. Those stats nearly doubled his performances from his sophomore campaign, when he averaged 5.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
Manhertz's in-game growth was also reflected in his percentages, going from 45 percent to 50 percent from the field as well as 67 percent to 81 percent from the free-throw line.
There is only room for more improvement as Manhertz continues to grow his on-court performances, which is something the Hoosiers will now get to see firsthand.
