Darian DeVries and the Indiana Hoosiers will soon know if they were able to land one of the top recruiting prospects in the country.
Darius Wabbington, a 5-star center in the 2027 recruiting class from Phoenix, AZ, has been on Indiana's radar for a while. Ranked as the No. 12 overall player and No. 2 center in the nation according to 247Sports, Wabbington is down to a list of finalists that includes Indiana, Illinois, and Arizona.
Wabbington is set to announce his commitment decision on Tuesday afternoon at 5 p.m. ET. Given his elite status and skill set, it is undoubtedly a highly-anticipated decision. DeVries and the Hoosiers can make a serious statement by sealing the deal.

Is Darian DeVries on the verge of landing his first 5-star commit at Indiana?
DeVries has made some solid moves on the recruiting trail, but he is still searching for a signature commitment that puts Indiana basketball recruiting back among the big boys. Wabbington could be that guy.
Owning a 6'10" 245-pound frame, Wabbington is a dynamic athlete who primarily plays center but can handle the ball with guard-like skills. He is a reliable rebounder on both ends of the floor, and also possesses a strong ability to score off the dribble and knock down shots from the outside. That athleticism and versatility is exactly what DeVries is looking for.
Samet Yigitoglu’s Big Ten readiness will be vital for Indiana's success this season
"Wabbington is the most skilled big man in the national class," 247Sports' Adam Finkelstein writes about the 5-star prospect. "He has naturally soft hands and touch, is an excellent ball-handler and passer (especially good lob thrower), and developing floor-spacing shooter. He's a wide-body who has gradually improved his conditioning, but could still better sculpt his frame."
Wabbington's other finalists, Illinois and Arizona, are both coming off Final Four runs this past season. Arizona is his hometown team, which always presents a big threat. Brad Underwood has Illinois rolling, so the Hoosiers face plenty of competition in the race for Wabbington's services.
Indiana missed out on the NCAA Tournament and is looking to take a big step forward in Year 2 of the DeVries era. Despite not owning the recent success as Wabbington's other finalists, DeVries still has the Hoosiers firmly in the mix. Wabbington took an official visit to Bloomington back on September 3, and was in attendance for IU's 52-16 season-opening win over North Texas on the gridiron. Since then, DeVries and company have put the pedal to the medal trying to land a commitment. Tomorrow they will find out if their efforts were successful.
