As a part of their run to a historic run to a National Championship last season, theĀ Indiana Hoosiers defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl. Not only did the Hoosiers beat the Crimson Tide, but they dominated from start to finish. The game was never in doubt as Indiana cruised to an emphatic 38-3 win.

Fernando Mendoza showered with praise from Donald Trump despite expected no-show

It's been over four months since that lopsided win, and it's clear that Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers aren't letting Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide forget about it anytime soon.

Curt Cignetti throws shade at Kalen DeBoer and Alabama during Donald Trump's speech at White House

On Monday, the National Champion Hoosiers spent the day visiting the nation's capital which included a visit to the White House. During the visit, President Donald Trump took to the podium for a speech about Indiana's historic season.

During the speech, Trump mentioned the score of the Rose Bowl Game between Indiana and Alabama. At that moment, Cignetti saw an opportunity and he took it.

The Hoosier head coach yelled out "Roll Tide" as Trump read the score of IU's 38-3 victory over DeBoer's Crimson Tide. The sarcastic chirp has Hoosier fans loving Cignetti even more.

Cignetti wasted no time turning the Indiana football program from an afterthought to a national contender. He owns an overall record of 27-2 over two seasons in Bloomington, which includes back-to-back appearances in the College Football Playoff.

During IU's title run this past season, Cignetti led the Hoosiers to victories over Alabama in the Rose Bowl and Oregon in the Peach Bowl before taking down Miami (FL) in the National Championship Game. Looking ahead, the Hoosiers have plenty of staying power in 2026 and beyond with Cignetti at the helm.

Down in Tuscaloosa, Alabama is still trying to find its footing under Kalen DeBoer. The Alabama program does not have the same auraĀ that it's had for so long, and Cignetti's remark at the White House can't feel good for fans of the Crimson Tide.
