Recruiting has always been a non-stop grind in the world of college football, and things have reached a new level in the current era of the sport. Among the key trends nowadays involves programs continuing to recruit players who have committed to a different school. For schools in that situation, becoming the top alternate in case a player reconsiders his commitment before signing day can prove to be extremely beneficial.

As Curt Cignetti continues to build IU's future recruiting classes, he has the Hoosiers firmly in the mix to land 4-star QB and Ole Miss commit Keegan Croucher.
Indiana continues to push for 4-star QB Keegan Croucher despite Ole Miss commitment
According to Rivals, Indiana is among the teams still working to flip Croucher away from the Rebels. Croucher committed to Ole Miss back on October 5, but the program has seen plenty of turnover since then. Lane Kiffin dominated headlines when he left for the LSU job, and he took several key staff members with him.
Most notably, former Ole Miss offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. has joined Kiffin in Baton Rouge, which gives the Rebel program a much different look than it had when Croucher committed back in October.

Hailing from Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN, Croucher is ranked as the No. 11 QB in the country and the No. 7 overall player in the state of Tennessee for the 2027 recruiting class by the 247Sports Composite rankings. Nationally, he is ranked as the No. 140 overall prospect. Owning a 6'4" 200-pound frame, Croucher has all the tools necessary to be a QB1 at the Power 4 level.
Indiana is still in the hunt thanks to Croucher's long-standing relationship with Tino Sunseri, who joins Cignetti's staff in Bloomington as Indiana's co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2026. Along with the Hoosiers, Rivals reports that Kentucky and Georgia are working to flip Croucher as well.
Indiana's 2027 recruiting class currently features five players. One QB is in that group in the form of 3-star gunslinger Jameson Purcell. Croucher remains committed to Ole Miss, but flipping him away from Oxford and adding him to IU's 2027 class would be a great victory for Cignetti and his staff.
