New Hoosiers assistant coach Rod Clark has a strong relationship with Jordan as he was recruiting him for the Tennessee Volunteers before joining Darian DeVries’ staff at Indiana.
The 6-foot-6 Jordan, attends Christian Community School in Tennessee after being homeschooled this spring. In sophomore year this past season attended Link Academy in Missouri before transferring there he played at the Ensworth School in Nashville, Tennessee as a freshman.
For spring and summer basketball, Jordan plays for Mokan Elite on the Nike EYBL Circuit. Jordan is averaging 11.2 points and 4.5 rebounds in EYBL games this season.
Jordan has offers from Tennessee, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Memphis, Missouri, Vanderbilt and others.
Here is what Travis Branham of 247Sports wrote about Jordan last fall at the USA Basketball Mini-Camp:
“Malachi Jordan is a well-known 2027 forward, the 6-foot-6 prospect was valuable in his utility as a rebounder and defender but he also showed some ability to go get his own bucket.
“He played hard on both ends of the court, finished strong at the rim and showed some flashes of potential as a shooter in time.
“Jordan was a big contributor to his team winning the younger age group’s championship and had an authoritative alley-oop finish in the game against the older championship team.”
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Malachi Jordan is the No. 17 overall prospect in the nation for the 2027 class, the 8th best small forward and the top overall recruit from the state of Tennessee.
