“I thoroughly appreciate being a Celtic and love the people I get to work with every day,” Stevens told @TheFieldOf68.
Stevens has been a top target for Indiana since the announcement that current head coach Mike Woodson would be resigning at the end of this season.
Woodson entered this season with a 58-35 overall record through his first three seasons at his alma mater Indiana but he missed out on the NCAA Tournament a year ago after going 19-14 overall and 10-10 in Big Ten Conference play.
Indiana currently has a overall record of 15-10 this season with a 6-8 record in Big Ten play. Indiana has been up and down to say the least and is on the bubble to make the NCAA tournament but on the outside looking in currently.
The Zionsville, Indiana native Brad Stevens led the Butler Bulldogs to back-to-back national championship game appearances in 2010 and 2011 before leaving the program to become the head coach of the Boston Celtics. He then moved to the front office and became the Celtics president of basketball operations
Indiana will continue it's search for its next men’s basketball coach for the next few months, with no rush and IU still has seven regular season games and at least 1 Big Ten Conference game remaining in the 2024-25 season.
Kids today will never get to see Brad Stevens coach a college basketball team and it breaks my heart pic.twitter.com/AKAqcaVxFw
