Rookie forward and former Indiana Hoosier, Mackenzie Holmes has officially signed with WNBA's Seattle Storm per an official release.

Holmes, who the Seattle Storm selected at No. 26 in the third round of the 2024 WNBA Draft, missed the entire 2024 season after undergoing knee surgery.

The 6-foot-3 Gorham, Maine native was the Gatorade State Player of the Yearf three years in a row in high school and a McDonald's All-American her senior season. Holmes finished her career at Indiana ranked first in four stat lines including the program’s all-time leading scorer (2,530), field goals made (1,043), field goal percentage (63.9), and wins (123).

In her five-year season in Bloomington, Holmes earned eight All-American selections, and in 2024, she earned unanimous All-Big Ten First Team, All-Big Ten Defensive Team, USWBA, and AP All American selections.

While recovering from her knee injury, Holmes worked with the Indiana University Women’s Basketball program as a graduate manager.

Mackenzie Holmes is looking to be a key contributor to the Seattle Storm now that she is finally healthy. The Seattle Storm also signed veteran Erica Wheeler who played for the Indiana Fever last season. Wheeler has played with the Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty, Las Vegas Aces, Atlanta Dream again and the Fever so far in her WNBA career.

The 2025 season looks bright for the Storm with the addition of Holmes. Seattle went 25-15 last season which landed them third in the Western Conference. The Storm eventually lost to the Las Vegas Aces in the first round of the playoffs.
