Indiana put up a valiant effort in Week 7 against Ohio State, but ultimately fell short. Now heading into Week 8, the Hoosiers are looking to bounce back against Michigan.

It's another tough road test for Indiana, and leaving The Big House with a win is never easy. This should be a tremendous matchup to watch unfold, and with kick-off continuing to draw nearer, let's take a look at the final Indiana vs Michigan betting odds, as well as a score prediction.

Final Indiana vs Michigan betting odds in Week 8

Indiana enters with a record of 6-1, while Michigan is 4-2. Indiana's lone loss came last week against Ohio State, while Michigan's two losses this season have come to Iowa and Minnesota. The Hoosiers are ranked in the No. 6 spot of this week's AP Top-25 Poll. Michigan is unranked.

As of this publishing, the Hoosiers are listed as 7.5-point favorites over the Wolverines. Oddsmakers are also expecting a low-scoring game, as the total, or over/under, sits at 42.5. Indiana vs Michigan preview and score prediction

Michigan's offensive ceiling was raised last week when Tommy Carr took over for the benched Bryce Underwood. Carr led the Wolverine offense to an impressive 2nd half against Penn State, but what can we expect from Carr in this matchup against the Hoosiers? He is still inexperienced as a freshman, and Indiana's defense is much better than Penn State's. IU defensive coordinator Bryant Haines is among the best in the business, and I expect him to have a solid game plan in place to give Carr some trouble in his first career collegiate start.

One key area that could determine the result of this showdown is explosive plays. Both defensive units are elite, as Indiana is allowing just 270.6 total yards and 12.9 points per game, while Michigan is surrendering just 256.5 yards and 16.2 points per contest. With both sides making every yard hard to come by, finding explosive plays in the passing game could be vital. If that is the case, advantage Indiana.

Josh Hoover's connection with Charlie Becker and Nick Marsh remains elite, and both receivers have delivered big-time plays in big-time moments in recent weeks. Michigan simply hasn't shown that kind of firepower this season. Indiana wins a physical, low-scoring affair 20-12.
