Back in April, the Indiana Hoosiers set a program record by having 8 players selected in the 2026 NFL Draft. Among the Hoosiers drafted was LB Aiden Fisher, who was a First-Team All-American in both 2024 and 2025. He was selected by the Texans in the 7th round of April's draft with the 243rd overall pick.
It's a pivotal weekend for Fisher, as he awaits Houston's decision on whether or not he will make the team's 53-man roster. Roster decisions need to be made by 6 p.m. ET on Sunday. Fisher’s preseason performance certainly gave the Texans plenty to consider ahead of roster cuts.

Fisher played a vital role on the Hoosier defense during Indiana's National Championship-winning season. He led the team with 10.5 tackles for loss and was second on the team with 95 total tackles. He also added 4.5 sacks and a pair of interceptions that included a pick-6.
Coming off that impressive campaign, Fisher made a strong first impression throughout the course of his first NFL preseason with the Texans. Through three games, Fisher's 22 total tackles are tied for the most in the NFL.

Fisher's physicality, football IQ, and innate ability to finish plays was on full display in all three games, giving him an ideal start to his NFL career. It also gave the Texans a performance that they can't ignore when making their final roster cuts.

As a 7th round pick, it seems that the Texans could be viewing Fisher as a developmental piece. Houston's linebacker core currently consists of veterans Henry To'oTo'o, Azeez Al-Shaair, Jamal Hall, and EJ Speed. 5th-year LB Jake Hansen and rookie Wade Woodaz are also in the mix, which gives Houston plenty of options to choose from.
With that being said, Fisher was asked to do a lot in the preseason, and he answered the call every time. With 22 total tackles including a whopping 12 in the preseason finale against Carolina, Fisher seems to be in a good position to make the cut.
ESPN has faith in Fisher's 53-man fate, as he is slated to make Houston's Week 1 roster in its latest projection. There is plenty of NFL experience to go around in Houston's LB room, but Fisher is poised to make an immediate impact. You can never have enough depth, and Fisher could bring some valuable depth in 2026. He wasn't phased by the NFL speed and physicality throughout training camp and the preseason slate, which boosts his chances of making the team. Hoosier fans are hoping some good news comes his way this weekend.
