Indiana attempts to take their biggest step of the season as the Hoosiers storm towards the Big 10 championship game and potentially the College Football Playoffs. In their way is a home contest against the defending National Champion Michigan Wolverines. While Xs and Os will be the topic of discussion, it will be the team that wins the battle for field position that will win the game.

The Indiana Hoosiers haven't had to face a defensive interior as strong as the Wolverines this season. Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant will most likely be first round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, as they serve as a dimming bright spot in what has been a difficult year for the Wolverines.

Despite their tough start, Michigan remains Indiana's biggest test so far this season. With star cornerback Will Johnson not expected to play for Michigan, Indiana is in great shape to win but mistakes could derail what has been an incredible season.

Indiana's defense must lead the way. Michigan has averaged only 21 points per game this season, only 12 points on the road and have cycled through three quarterbacks. However they still have Donovan Edwards who could get hot at anytime and a rushing attack that could put points on the board if they get a short field.

Indiana needs to play this like an old school Big 10 showdown. Field position, win the turnover battle and punts. The Wolverines can not score on Indiana unless they give Michigan the ball in an advantageous position. Keep the ball safe and take an undefeated record into next week.
