#4. Welcome home, Race Thompson!

While I was concerned about the minutes he was playing and how he was moving on the floor for most of the game, Thompson was showing flashes of getting over that mental injury hurdle he mentioned in his pregame availability.

In 23 minutes against Minnesota, his highest minute total since December 23 (Kennesaw State), Thompson posted just four points on 1-for-4 shooting and 2-for-4 from the free throw line, but also came up with a huge four rebounds, three assists, and three blocks, which solidified his major impact in the last hometown college game of his career.

The Plymouth, Minnesota kid came out right away and was clearly ready for a workload increase, but with just two days off before Saturday’s Ohio State game, Thompson may need to take a back seat to Malik Reneau and Jordan Geronimo as he hopes to stay healthy heading into an important stretch of Big Ten games in February.
