#5. Malik Reneau needs more playing time

Last night, Reneau played nearly all of his 12 minutes in the first half where the freshman forward posted all of his 10 points on 4-for-5 from the field and basically kept the Hoosiers afloat offensively as they struggled to string together any consistent offense against the Gophers.

The problem last night was the minutes Reneau did not play in the second half. I think I can recall maybe 1 minute of action where he got beat on two drives on the defensive end of the floor, but his offense seemed to be a bit more needed than Race Thompson’s defense, who’s coming off a tough injury.

I believe that Rosemond and the coaching staff may have gotten a bit too caught up in matchups instead of just letting Reneau and Jackson-Davis dominate the paint like they could have against the soft zone that Minnesota threw out there.
