Reason #3: The Hoosiers are deep, even with Grace Berger’s injury status in question

Since November 25, the Indiana women’s basketball team has been without arguably their best player, Grace Berger, a senior guard that injured her knee in the infamous Las Vegas tournament that was slammed by social media.

Berger’s injury came at the worst time, as the Hoosiers were getting ready to take on No. 6 North Carolina on December 1 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, especially since Berger had been playing at an All-Big Ten level, averaging 10.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 24.0 minutes per game.

Luckily for Teri Moren and the Hoosiers, they have plenty of talent and power behind Berger to back it up and hold things steady until she returns (“out indefinitely”). No. 5 Indiana pounded No. 6 North Carolina, 87-63, thanks to 25 points from Mackenzie Holmes and 24 points from Sydney Parrish.

Along with Holmes and Parrish, Teri Moren has three other players that are currently averaging 10+ points per game, with a playmaker Chloe Moore-McNeil and a freshman sharpshooter, Yarden Garzon, shooting 51.2 percent from beyond the arc and leading Indiana women’s basketball team with 21 made three-pointers.
