1. Sam Griesel – Senior Guard – #5

2022-23 stats: 9 GP, 32.2 MIN, 11.3 PPG, 5.6 REB, 4.9 AST, 1.3 STL, 2.8 TOV, 50.7 FG%

Thus far this season, Griesel is one of three Big Ten players to average at least 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists — joined alongside Jalen Pickett (Penn State) and Coleman Hawkins (Illinois).

The North Dakota State transfer has come into Lincoln and taken over Fred Hoiberg’s offense, leading this new-look Huskers team to impressive wins this season and competitive losses over talented teams.

In the astonishing win over No. 7 Creighton, Griesel seemed to be in control the entire contest and finished the game with 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. Griesel will be leading the offense the entire night, and if he’s distributing and scoring the ball, Nebraska will be difficult to beat.
