#4. Race Thompson played terribly on Saturday & his struggles hurt the Hoosiers

In just 17 minutes of action for Thompson, he managed zero points on 0-for-4 shooting, six rebounds, two turnovers, and two personal fouls. His 17 minutes are the fewest minutes played in a conference game for Thompson since playing just 13 minutes off the bench against Minnesota on March 4, 2020.

Thompson was visibly hurting the Hoosiers when he was out on the court, unable to make any of his three wide-open three-point attempts, while Rutgers was basically daring him to shoot. Along with that, Race did little to help on the glass and hardly made an impact on the game, box score aside.

After his 20-point performance on November 23, Race is averaging just 3.0 points on 30.8 percent shooting from the field, 20.0 percent shooting from deep, and 4.0 rebounds. If the Hoosiers are going to be successful this season, Race Thompson needs to be more impactful in his minutes played.
