#5. The Hoosiers’ defense was most impressive against one of the best offenses in the country

Since 2020-21, only two ranked teams have held North Carolina to 65 or fewer points scored in a game — No. 9 Virginia (60-48 loss on February 13, 2021) and No. 10 Indiana (77-65 loss on November 30, 2022).

The most impressive part of this game for Indiana basketball was how difficult the guards and forwards made it for each Tar Heel player to catch the ball, even 30 feet away from the hoop. The difference in this game was the defensive performance. Indiana was able to run their offense pretty smoothly, while the best offense for North Carolina seemed to be rushed shots early in the shot clock.

Trayce Jackson-Davis led the way with four blocks, protecting the rim at all costs, while Race Thompson, Trey Galloway, and others made things very difficult for the Tar Heels. Usually, offense tends to fall off in road games, but the Hoosiers’ defense will likely travel well to Piscataway.
