The Hoosiers have lost three straight games for the second consecutive season and Indiana football is hoping to rebound against a Terrapins team that lost to Purdue in Week 6 at home.

Last season, the Hoosiers went into College Park and put up 35 points in a loss with a very below-average offensive unit and couldn’t find a way to slow down Maryland’s offense. My guess is it’ll be a lot of the same defensively, but not as much backing up by the offense.

Indiana football vs. Maryland prediction

Unfortunately, I’m not giving Indiana football much of a chance to hang with Tagovailoa and the Terrapins offense. From what we’ve seen over the six weeks of this season, my prediction is that at halftime, Maryland and Indiana will be tied at 13-13 or the Hoosiers will be trailing 20-10. The only positive from this game offensively will be the performance of Connor Bazelak trying to go toe-to-toe with Tagovailoa.

Initially, I believed the Hoosiers offense would be WAY further along than where they’re at right now, so that was the reason my preseason final predictions had Indiana losing this game by just three points in a high-scoring affair. That won’t happen in this game, and I could even see the Terrapins scoring more with the depleted defensive unit that Tom Allen will be throwing out there. Let’s hope for small improvements from the offensive line, defensive secondary, and overall gameplay.
