Standing at 38 days away from the 2022-23 season tipping off, we look at our top 40 Indiana basketball players of all-time. Now this player is a current Hoosier and could solidify his legacy in Bloomington if he can lead his team to a Big Ten title or national championship this season.

Many may disagree with him even being placed on this list, but if you look at his numbers from what he’s done in just three seasons at IU, it seems as though he should be higher than number 38.

Indiana basketball career stats: 16.9 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 1.9 BLK, 58.9 FG%

Trayce Jackson-Davis is entering his fourth and final season in Bloomington with an opportunity to bring home some team and individual hardware. Jackson-Davis has been named a preseason All-American by many media outlets for this upcoming season, along with being considered a potential national player of the year candidate.

The senior from Greenwood, Indiana has had many standout games in his three seasons at IU, along with scoring the most points ever in a single game (43) in school history, one more point than when Steve Alford scored 42 points in a game against Michigan State in 1987. Jackson-Davis earned second team All-Big Ten and Big Ten All-Defensive team honors last season.

With one final season remaining, Jackson-Davis already ranks in the top 10 in the following categories in Indiana basketball history:

Field goal percentage – 55.8 % (4th)
Free throws attempted – 615 (4th)
Offensive rebounds – 261 (1st)
Defensive rebounds – 536 (2nd)
Total rebounds – 797 (9th)
Blocks – 178 (7th)

If TJD scores at least 500 points this season, he will pass Mike Woodson for fifth on the all-time scoring list in school history with 2,088+ points. If Jackson-Davis has himself an All-American season as a senior, he could move himself into the conversation of being a top 10 Indiana basketball player of all-time.
