Indiana Hoosiers: Building a perfect Big Ten conference

Indiana Hoosiers: Making the perfect Big Ten
Just like the state of Indiana, Michigan is a mainstay in the Big Ten. The state has two teams that absolutely need to be in the Big Ten. They have some other division one schools, but none that would be ready for the Big Ten.
Michigan Wolverines
We mentioned it with Indiana and basketball is what you think of with the Big Ten. The same could be said about Michigan and football. Yes, the Wolverines haven’t been on top in the conference in a long time but if you ask anybody about the Big Ten and you would hear them say Michigan and Ohio State. It is arguably the best rivalry in college football, and they absolutely hate each other. The Wolverines have also been one of the best basketball teams in the country over the last ten years and they just had the national runner-up in baseball. Oh, and they are pretty good at the other sports also. Just like Indiana and Purdue, you can’t have the Big Ten without Michigan.
Michigan State Spartans
Michigan State might not be the Wolverine’s biggest rival, but it is still a big-time game when they play each other. Michigan has referred to them as their “little brother” but the Spartans have had more success in football in the last ten years, even making the college football playoff. But football is not where the Spartans make their name. That would be on the basketball court, where they have been one of the best teams in the country over the last 20+ years. They own the conference last national championship in 2000 and consistently puts a Final Four worthy team on the court. The Spartans are a necessity when making the perfect Big Ten.
