Indiana Basketball: Big recruiting decision coming Thursday night
By Adam Childs
The Indiana basketball team is waiting patiently for Thursday when they will learn if a key 2021 recruit will join the Hoosiers.
Jordan Longino, a 2021 target for the Hoosiers, tweeted out that a big announcement would happen on Thursday at 8 pm.
Longino is the 32nd ranked prospect and sixth-ranked shooting guard in the 2021 class according to 247sports. Currently, the crystal ball projections have him heading to Villanova, but the Hoosiers have been trending up for the guard.
Longino is a Pennsylvania native and Villanova would make a lot of sense for him, but Archie Miller has been in on him lately and could be the school that changes his mind.
He would be a steal for the Hoosiers and would jump Indiana up the recruiting rankings for next year. Logan Duncomb, a center from Ohio, is currently the only commit for the Hoosiers, but they are also seen as one of the favorites for Trey Kaufman.
The Hoosiers missed out on Trey Patterson to Villanova, so they are hoping to return the favor on the Wildcats for Longino
Indiana was a little late to the game on Longino as they didn’t offer him a scholarship until April but has remained in contact with him and if he chose the Hoosiers it wouldn’t be a huge surprise.
Miller has done a great job on the recruiting trail and brought in a great 2020 class. The 2021 class looks promising, but it would look a whole lot better if Longino chooses them. Hopefully, Thursday will be a great day for the Indiana basketball team.
