Indiana Football: Are Hoosiers a 10 win team in 2020?
By Adam Childs
The Indiana football team has never won 10 games in a season. Is 2020 the year they finally get over the hump?
The excitement is building for the Indiana football season. The amount of optimism for the 2020 season is higher than it has ever been for the Hoosiers.
They bring back some very talented skill position players. They have arguably one of the top five quarterbacks in the conference in Michael Penix Jr. He is joined in the backfield by one of the most reliable running backs in the conference in Stevie Scott III. Finally, they bring back one of the best wide receivers not only in the Big Ten but the country in production in Whop Philyor.
That is a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball and we haven’t even talked about second receiver Ty Fryfogle and tight end Peyton Hendershot. The Hoosiers have the chance to be really good offensively this year.
Will that translate to a lot of wins though? The early schedule sets up really nice for the Hoosiers to make a run. If they can upset Wisconsin during the opening week, they could be staring at a 7-0 start before a tough end of the year.
The schedule is nice early and like we just said the Hoosiers could get off to a great start, but will it be enough to get them to 10 wins for the first time in program history? We think this is the year it finally happens.
