Michael Penix Jr

Michael Penix Jr. is easily the most talented quarterback Indiana has had in years. The 6’3″ playmaker put up great numbers in his limited time  (six games) at quarterback this season. He threw for 10 touchdowns while tossing just four interceptions. He also threw for 1400 yards at a 68% completion percentage. He’s got a great arm and is accurate on deep balls, which NFL scouts love to see. He’s also a great athlete which is becoming more and more valued at the next level with guys like Deshaun Watson, Patrick Mahomes, and Lamar Jackson having great success by capitalizing on their athleticism.

If Penix can stay healthy and continue to improve, he could be drafted highly in the next two seasons. He’s got all the physical tools to carve out a nice career in the NFL. Philyor may be him to it, but Penix could be the one that breaks the first round drought for the Hoosiers.

The quarterback has always been important in the NFL, but it seems like it is more at a premium now and they are being drafted earlier than ever. If Penix can continue to develop he should not only be drafted in the NFL but also in the early rounds.
