The Indiana basketball team extended a scholarship offer to Jordan Longino, a four-star shooting guard out of Germantown, Pennsylvania.
Indiana and Archie Miller are looking to continue their recruiting momentum as they extended a scholarship offer to class of 2021 shooting guard Jordan Longino on Wednesday, two days after getting a big commitment from Logan Duncomb.
When Duncomb picked Indiana, it raised the Hoosiers to the third-best recruiting class for 2021 according to some reports. That still includes Khristian Lander who is leaning towards reclassifying and joining the Hoosiers for this next year.
Longino is a 6’3″ shooting guard out of Pennsylvania who 247sports has ranked as the 46th top prospect in the class of 2021. They also have him as the eight best shooting guard in the country. The crystal ball projections have him as 100% towards Villanova, but a new offer could start to change things. The Hoosiers obviously feel as if they have a chance to get him or they wouldn’t have extended the offer.
Longino currently has other offers from Florida, Penn State, Rhode Island, and Temple among others. He averaged 23 points per game as a Junior at Germantown Academy. He is also their starting quarterback and has proved to be a great athlete.
Being from Pennsylvania, Villanova would be the obvious choice for him, but Indiana has a great recruiting class coming in this year and next year and adding Longino would be huge.
The Hoosiers could pitch the idea of him and Lander being one of the best backcourts in all of college basketball. Longino could decide playing next to Lander and the prospect of bringing the Hoosiers back is too big of an opportunity to pass up.
It will be hard to beat out Villanova, but if the Hoosiers thought they had a good rapport with Longino then it makes sense for them to make a run at him. Miller has been hot on the recruiting trail and if he could pull off flipping a perceived Villanova recruit to the Hoosiers it would be yet another huge win.
