Indiana Basketball: Decision looms large for top IU target
By Alec Lasley
Matt Cross has ended his official visits and now is set to make his decision in the coming weeks, leaving the Indiana basketball program in waiting mode.
While the Indiana basketball program was busy hosting its own official visitor this past weekend with Jordan Geronimo, another top Hoosiers target was out on his own visit, with a decision to come soon after.
Matt Cross has long been on the Indiana radar and is someone who head coach Archie Miller has put a priority on over the past couple of months.
Finishing up his official visit to Texas A&M on Sunday, the four-star prospect now has a decision to make, and wants to make it soon, as he told 247Sports recruiting analyst Evan Daniels to expect a decision “within the next week or week and a half”.

The programs that Cross will be deciding between are Indiana, Miami, South Carolina, Butler, Florida, and Texas A&M. However, the Hoosiers and Miami have been long rumored to be the two “frontrunners”, despite the recent visits to Florida and A&M.
Cross is a talented hybrid forward who would fill a hole for the Indiana roster and be a nice addition to keep the 2020 recruiting class rolling.
The Hoosiers do have something none of the other five programs have; that history and tradition of a basketball school. Cross has been open about his desire to play in front of a basketball school’s crowd, and what better way to do that than in Assembly Hall in front of one of the best crowds in the entire country.
There is no doubt Cross will make an informed decision, but we still believe that Cross will end up in Bloomington. Time will tell, but with all of the work that Archie Miller has put in to being the lead recruiter on Cross, we think it pays off this time next week.
