The Indiana basketball program continues to keep tabs on what could be an important piece to its 2021 recruiting class.
Though Archie Miller is trying to round out the final two spots to Indiana basketball’s 2020 recruiting class, the 2021 class remains of high importance as he continues to work on building relationships with a few in-state prospects.
One of those in-state targets is Blake Wesley. The four-star guard received an offer from Indiana at the end of July and neither side is wasting too much time trying to set up a date to get Wesley on campus.
Wesley’s dad told Thedailyhoosier.com that a visit to Bloomington is in the works and just need to solidify a date.
"“The IU visit coming up will probably be around a football weekend,” Derrick said. “We just need to talk to the coaches and see when it’s a good time for them too.”"
Wesley has a visit to Purdue on the schedule for September 28 and also wants to get to Columbus to see Ohio State as well.

One school that has received a visit from the Riley, Indiana native and is a program to watch out for is Notre Dame. Not only are they an in-state school but they just received a commitment from J.R. Konieczny on Sunday, someone who had visited Indiana in June. The Irish have long been trying to get the duo of Konieczny and Wesley to team up and now the new Irish commit is trying to persuade Wesley to join forces in South Bend.
While Notre Dame has connections, the Hoosiers do as well.
As previously noted, current IU wing Damezi Anderson was teammates with Wesley at Riley High School, but also Anderson’s younger brother is currently on the Riley roster playing alongside Wesley. Blake’s family also has connections to Bloomington as his mom graduated from Indiana as well.
What makes Wesley so intriguing to many high-majors is his versatility on both ends of the floor. At 6-foot-4, and still growing, Wesley continues to work on his point guard skills. With the ability to play in the backcourt or out on the wing, his positionless basketball is exactly what Archie Miller loves out of his guards and wings.
Wesley is one of the overlooked players in the talented and deep in-state 2021 class and is ranked No. 88 in 247Sports rankings, and the fourth overall prospect in Indiana.
