Indiana Football: 5 reasons why IU will make a bowl game in 2019
1. Quality QB play
It’s a three-man competition for the starting quarterback spot between redshirt junior Peyton Ramsey, redshirt freshman Mike Penix, and Utah transfer Jack Tuttle.
Peyton Ramsey brings in the most experience as he started every game in 2018, but the duo of Penix and Tuttle have pushed him in training camp, and it looks to be a very close battle between Penix and Ramsey.
Penix showed Hoosier fans glances of his potential as a signal caller who can push the ball down the field before suffering a season ending injury against Penn State last year but has continued to impress early in camp this summer.
With each of these quarterbacks bringing valuable depth, skill, and experience, head coach Tom Allen will have a tough time deciding on a starter to lead the strong returning core of Indiana offensive players.
