Week Two: Eastern Illinois

SEP 7 (SAT) 3:30 PM ET
BLOOMINGTON, IND.

Competing in the FCS, Eastern Illinois is coming off of a 3-8 season and have a little bit of a quarterback controversy.

Jonathan Brantley returns as someone who started nine games a season ago, amassed over 2000 passing yards with 65.1 completion percentage, throwing 14 touchdowns to just two interceptions. He even held the school and conference record for most consecutive passes thrown without an interception (230). Brantley, being more of a dual threat quarterback, also rushed for 310 yards and six touchdowns.

On the other hand, Harry Woodbery is a junior college transfer who played in all 11 games a season ago for Eastern Illinois, making two starts. He finished with 1374 passing yards for 13 touchdowns and six interceptions.

I don’t foresee the Hoosiers struggling too much with this game, as Eastern Illinois has faced a power five opponent just three times in the last six years.

With a defense that had all but one category ranked above 100 in the FCS, there doesn’t seem to much a lot of firepower on the side of the ball, giving way to the Hoosiers offense.

Prediction: Indiana 42, Eastern Illinois 17
