Week One: Ball State

AUG 31 (SAT) 12:00 PM ET
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. (LUCAS OIL STADIUM)

A 2018 opponent for the Hoosiers, Ball State and Indiana take their game off campus, and head to Lucas Oil Stadium for the season opener.

Last season, Indiana won easily, 38-10, at home led by two rushing touchdowns by freshman running back Stevie Scott. For the game he finished with 16 carries for 110 yards in his first career game in an Indiana uniform.

Indiana will see a different quarterback under center for Ball State this time around, as former Cardinal Riley Neal transferred to Vanderbilt.

Taking over for Neal will be Drew Plitt, who finished the season as the starter following an injury to Neal with three games left.

Plitt threw for 1008 yards with six touchdowns and eight interceptions and a 64.8 completion percentage. With a full summer under him, knowing he should be the starter barring anything crazy, Plitt will come in ready to perform.

Peyton Ramsey returns, as the expected starter for Indiana, and will look to build on a good junior season.

The combination of Ramsey and Stevie Scott will be too much as the Hoosiers should win this one easily.

Prediction: Indiana 35, Ball State 13
