4.  Penn State Nittany Lions

The Penn State Nittany Lions join Ohio State and Michigan as one of the top teams in the division as they are always in range of competing for the Big Ten East’s top spot.

After losing star dual threat quarterback Trace McSorely to graduation and top receiver Juwan Johnson transferring to Oregon, James Franklin will return a solid core of wideouts in Mac Hippenhammer and KJ Hamler, but not under center. Tommy Stevens, who played sparingly last season, unexpectedly transferred during the offseason, leaving a big question mark at the quarterback position.

The defense will be manned by strong linebackers in Micah Parsons and Cam Brown. While the Nittany Lions lost a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball, the defense will keep them in most games. The offense will need to find its groove to compete for the Big Ten title.

Playing in Happy Valley is always a difficult place to play, no matter who you are, and the Hoosiers head there in week 10.
