Indiana Basketball: Top NBA prospects on the Indiana roster
Justin Smith
At 6-foot-7 and 227 pounds, paired with his freakish athletic ability, Smith would more than likely stand out at the NBA Combine and measurements. However, it his ability and skill on the court that would cause concerns for NBA scouts evaluating his game.
Smith would have to play small forward at the next level, but at first glance, scouts would likely label his as raw and unpolished as an NBA prospect projected to play against other small forwards.
His three-point shot would need to improve drastically, as he shot just 22 percent this past season.
As NBA offensive schemes rely more and more on the three-point shot, his perimeter skills will need to improve and at least show potential for development.
Aside from his raw offensive skills, he is also an older player compared to others prospects.
If no improvements are shown, some scouts may see little upside for him as a player and for his development as a off-the-dribble scoring threat, something he lacks right now.
