Freshman, Romeo Langford, earned more Big Ten honors as he was named Big Ten freshman of the week.

His fourth time winning the award this season, Langford was given the Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor in back-to-back weeks.

The New Albany native posted 28 points against Maryland on Friday, tying his career high.

Despite the Hoosiers loss, Langford took over the game in the second half, scoring 20 points in the final 20 minutes of the game.

On the season, Langford is averaging 18.8 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists all while shooting 51.3 percent.

In his five conference games though, Langford has raised his play, averaging over 22 points per game on 54 percent shooting.

The Hoosiers have dropped their last two games, both of which were on the road, but look to get back in the win column tonight against Nebraska at home.

One of the best players in the entire country, recently named to the Midseason Wooden Award list, he ranks in the top ten in the conference in the following categories: points per game (4th) field goal percentage (9th), usage percentage (8th), minutes played (6th), amongst a few others.

The 6-foot-6 guard was recently featured on Big Ten Network’s “The Journey” documentary series that follows players and teams throughout the season.

A projected lottery pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Langford is listed at number six in ESPN’s NBA Draft big board.
