As spring training is right around the corner, Indiana football continues to send out offers. The latest to receive an offer is 2019 quarterback Connor Bazelak.

Heading into the 2018 season, Peyton Ramsey appears to be the clear cut starter once the season starts. However, Michael Penix and Reese Taylor will both have the opportunity to show the coaching staff that they can be the team’s signal caller as well. If none of those three work out in 2018, Indiana could have found their starter for 2019, as they have offered 2019 quarterback Connor Bazelak out of Kettering Alter high school in Dayton, Ohio.

According to 247 sports, Bazelak stands at 6’4 200lbs and is a pro-style quarterback. He is ranked as the 16th best pro-style QB, the 26th best prospect in the state of Ohio, and the 601st ranked athlete in the entire country.

At such a tall height, Bazelak could provide Indiana with the tall quarterback they have not had in many years. Being in able to stand in the pocket and withstand hits is one of the true signs that signal callers must have if they plan to succeed. Despite being a pro-style quarterback, Connor also has some speed, similar to that of Ben Roethlisberger. Although Big Ben is much bigger than Bazelek, he has plenty of speed.

Primarily playing for a running highschool team, Bazelak does not throw the ball that often. He attempted just 134 passes in 2016, completing 57 of them for 1,097 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Along with the offer from Indiana, Bazelak has received offers from Kentucky, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, and Vanderbilt among plenty of other D1 teams.
