NFL Draft Analyst has Simmie Cobbs drafted by Chiefs in 3rd round
By Eric Brown
NFL Draft Analyst Matt Miller recently released his full 7-round mock draft, in it he has Hoosiers WR Simmie Cobbs being drafted 86th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs.
There is no doubt that Simmie Cobbs, arguably one of the best receivers, if not the best receiver, to ever play for the Indiana Hoosiers will be drafted in the 2018 NFL Draft. Scouts have him being pegged anywhere from a second round pick to a fourth round pick. Matt Miller, who does mock drafts for Bleacher Report recently released his full 7-round mock draft. In his latest mock, he has the former Hoosier being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 86th pick in the third round.

Plenty of teams around the league could use the services of Cobbs, who projects as a second or third wide receiver on a team. At 6’4, Cobbs will likely be used as a legitimate end zone threat once he reaches the NFL.
Despite being a threat down the field, there are a few hindrances that will lower his draft stock just a bit. He doesn’t separate very well from his defender, nor is he that great of a blocker, however some NFL teams will likely look over that if he can prove that he can catch the ball well enough.
How he helps the Chiefs
With Kansas City possibly losing both Albert Wilson, and De’Anthony Thomas to free agency this offseason, they will be in desperate search of receiving help during the 2018 draft.
With new starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes being able to sling the ball down the field, having wide outs Tyreek Hill, and Simmie Cobbs could help him succeed. Everybody knows that Hill is one of the fastest receivers in the NFL, and having Cobbs join him, they could become a one-two punch that defenses do not want to be lining up against.
The Chiefs also have Jehu Chesson, Chris Conley and Marcus Kemp on their roster. None of those three will likely be major factors, that is where Cobbs has the chance to step in and become an immediate starter.

No matter where Simmie Cobbs gets drafted, he will help the team that drafts him. What city that will be in will be determined during the 2018 NFL Draft. Don’t forget to watch on April 26th to watch Cobbs get drafted.
