West Virginia AD takes salty blow at Indiana after Darian DeVries joined the Hoosiers

Someone seems a bit salty that Indiana took his head basketball coach.

West Virginia fans are down badly right now. The Mountaineers were snubbed from the NCAA Tournament when they thought they were a lock and now don't have a head coach, the head coach that they just got a year ago.

Indiana is another team that was down badly, with the Hoosiers not making the NCAA Tournament again, denied any other postseason tournament, and then also lost their head coach who was retiring at the end of the season, although quite a few people were happy about that.

However, Indiana fans have a reason to be happy again, as they are the ones who hired West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries and have their future set in sight. Hoosiers fans are forgetting the sting of not making the NCAA Tournament and are ready for the DeVries era to begin.

Some people are really not happy about DeVries coming to Indiana, like the West Virginia athletic director, Wren Baker. Baker decided to take a shot at the Hoosiers, talking about who has been more successful as of late.

Congratulations, in the last 25 years, you have been a little more successful than the Hoosiers, but last we checked, West Virginia has never won a National Championship and has also only appeared in one National Championship game and lost. If you want to compare the two programs, you can't just pick and choose what is going to be compared, you need to look at the programs as a whole and Indiana has West Virginia beat by far.

Baker is simply just upset over the fact that the coach he thought was going to come in and really make a change with the Mountaineer basketball program chose to leave for another program a year later. DeVries talked about how Indiana was a dream job for him and if that is the case, then Baker just needs to move on and start a coaching search of his own.
