Indiana and UCLA both bring so much history to the basketball court and it's truly a question of how these teams have only met 12 times overall. Tonight both teams have the opportunity to take the lead in the series as they are deadlocked at 6-6 with their last matchup coming all the way back in 2007. In their most recent matchup, the Hoosiers fell to the Bruins in a close one 54-49 in the NCAA Tournament.
The Hoosiers are coming off what is probably their biggest win of the season, taking down No. 11 Michigan State in East Lansing. Indiana used a great balanced attack on offense and killer zone defense to slow the Spartans down on their attack.
With the regular season coming to an end in the coming weeks, Indiana has to find wins in as many games as possible because while they are fighting to get into the NCAA Tournament, they also need to focus on fighting to get into the Big Ten Tournament as they currently sit 12th in the conference and only the top 15 teams make it in.
A win against UCLA would be huge for the Hoosiers as it would count as another Quad 1 win on their resume for the NCAA Tournament. All Indiana needs to focus on is winning and that will get them into the tournament.
