A historic run for Indiana Hoosiers football has come to an end in 2024. The now-10-1 Hoosiers lost their first game of the season on Saturday against Ohio State. IU still has a lot to play for with Purdue rolling into town on Saturday night in their in-state rivalry game.
Indiana can still make the College Football Playoffs as an at-large team but with a 23-point loss on their resume to Ohio State on the national stage the margin for error is low with a 1-10 Purdue as the lone team left in the regular season.
IU fans should not be sad or down and out, in the last three seasons combined, the Hoosiers had nine wins. This season, they already have 10 — the most in program history.
It looks bright for IU to get in the playoffs, let's see what social media had to say about Indiana and their playoff chances.
MUST WATCH: Indiana HC Curt Cignetti was asked if he thinks the Hoosiers should be in the College Football Playoff despite the 23-point loss today.

His response was yet another great Cignetti moment.@WISHNews8 | #iufb | #CFP pic.twitter.com/gWkFlC1H1O
I'm sorry but the College Football Playoff committee cannot let Indiana anywhere near the playoff.

If you can play 1 tough game all year & get your doors blown off BUT still make the playoff, the CFB regular season is officially ruined. pic.twitter.com/rMbjzAp2FJ
Indiana absolutely deserves to make the College Football Playoff.

I don't care who you play, if you're 11-1 in the Big 10 and it's a 12-team playoff then you should be in. pic.twitter.com/mz26NFiYeK
ESPN's College Football Playoff Predictor has Indiana as a virtual lock to make the playoff with a win over Purdue, and still a 72% chance to host a 1st round game. Their current projection has Indiana as an 8-seed hosting 9-seed Tennessee.

Who do you think Indiana matches up… pic.twitter.com/QZQGAWQaeI
Indiana made a loud statement today that they don’t belong in the playoff and the SEC spent the next eight hours saying “wanna bet?”
