According to published reports from several 49ers sources, former Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke signed for $4.3 million. Four-year contracts for rookies are standard in the NFL. According to Over The Cap, Rourke’s four-year deal is worth approximately $4.33 million. It includes a signing bonus of $134,236 and carries a 2025 salary-cap hit of $873,559.
David Lombardi also reported that former All Big Ten defensive lineman CJ West signed a 4-year deal worth $5.2 million this week. He also received a $1.01 million signing bonus.
Rourke started 12 games for the Hoosiers in 2024 leading them to the first ever College Football Playoff appearance. The Canadian signal caller recorded 3,042 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and five interceptions, with a career-high 69.4 completion percentage which led him to finish ninth overall in Heisman Trophy voting.
Previous to his lone season at Indiana he spent four seasons at Ohio appearing in 46 games, (with a 30-14 record in games he's started). He threw for 10,144 career passing yards, 71 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.
The San Fransisco 49ers selected Kurtis Rourke with the No. 227 Pick in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-2, 317-pound West, started his career at Kent State making 39 starts and was named third-team All-Mid-American Conference in 2023.
Like Rourke, West played one season at Indiana after playing the rest of his career in the Mid-American Conference. West played at Kent State, prior to Indiana where he had 150 tackles and nine sacks.
West played his senior season at Indiana earning Big Ten honorable mention honors in his lone season as a Hoosier. Pro Football Focus graded West as the 14th-best overall grade among interior defenders in the country.
He was taken at No. 113 overall in the 4th round by the San Francisco 49ers.
