The NBA Draft takes place this summer at the Barclays Center in New York City. Hundreds of players from across the globe are preparing to go through the pre-draft process in hopes of hearing their names called in June.

One of those players is Indiana basketball standout Kel'el Ware. The Oregon transfer came to Bloomington with a ton of questions about his motor and desire. He answered all those questions this year, earning All-Big Ten Defensive and All-Big Ten Third Team honors.

When does Ware officially declare for the draft?

Players who are automatically eligible for the draft have either graduated, been four years removed from their high school class, or played overseas. Players like Ware must declare themselves as early entrants. International players must be 19 and released from the contract of their pro or club team.

Players who wish to declare early have a window to either remain in the draft or return to school. That window is from April 27th to June 16th. Players have the opportunity to collect information concerning their draft status. Early entrants may also participate in NBA pre-draft camps to demonstrate their skills and acquire information concerning their draft status.
