There has always been speculation regarding the path Bronny James would take to reach his ultimate destination: (potentially teaming up with his legendary father in) the NBA. That buzz has been audible since before Bronny's first NCAA season yielded loads of uncertainty pertaining to his professional future. It was evident even before he played his first official NCAA minutes, and even before he was hit with his first hurdle of extremely serious adversity prior to the start of his freshman campaign.

Now, we are officially one step closer to the inevitable climax of the steady suspense.

With official word breaking that the young prince has both declared for the 2024 NBA draft AND entered the NCAA men's transfer portal, we could not help but to imagine how his hypothetical arrival would change things for Indiana men's basketball. To be fully clear, these thoughts are by no means meant to create rumors connecting Bronny to B-Town. However, the thought of the 19-year-old swingman coming on board is incredibly tantalizing.

As previously noted, Bronny's first collegiate season was highly underwhelming in terms of his statistics:

25 GP (6 Starts) | 19.4 MPG | 4.8 PPG | 2.8 RPG | 2.1 APG (1.1 TOPG) | 0.2 SPG | 0.8 BPG | 36.6% FG | 26.7% 3 | 67.6% FT

His team's 15-18 overall finish on the season does not bode well for Bronny's assumed impact. However, it is essential to bare in mind that he was slotted behind Boogie Ellis (team's leading returning scorer), Isaiah Collier (projected 2024 NBA lottery pick), and Kobe Johnson (steady secondary playmaker) within Andy Enfield's backcourt rotation. LBJ Jr. had his work cut out for him in terms of playing time the moment that he committed to the Trojans.

It is also to important to recall that he has greatness embedded in his DNA, and his athleticism is a strong indication of his father's genetics. Branching off of that, there are obvious hints of LeBron's floor game and overall court sense within Bronny's overall feel. 2023-2024 was not the type of start that anyone envisioned for Bronny, but there is no denying that he has the potential to blow up as soon as next season.
