Way Too Early Big Ten Quarterback Rankings
By Dante Pryor
7. Kurtis Rourke/Tayven Jackson: Indiana
New Indiana Football head coach Curt Cignetti challenged quarterback Tayven Jackson before the spring game and the Tennessee transfer responded. He completed his first eight passes and led the Hoosiers on their first scoring drive. Kurtis Rourke took some time to get acclimated but was solid. Rourke, the former MAC player of the year, did not lose the job. However he didn't exactly win it either. This competition is likely to go through the fall. Either quarterbacks have good skill players to throw to.
6. Luke Altmyer: Illinois
Luke Altmyer played solid football before he was injured. Early on, he played like a first-year starter, which he was. He's healthy and has a solid group of receivers. Altmyer and the Illini are looking for a bounce back season. With so many losses on defense, Illinois needs Altmyer to pick up from where he left off, stay healthy, and take a step forward in order for the Illini to make a bowl game.
