On3 Sports names Indiana Quarterback Kurtis Rourke Top Heisman Hopeful

Kurtis Rourke is now listed as a top five 2024 Heisman Trophy canidate for in the halfway point of the season.

Indiana Hoosiers senior quarterback Kurtis Rourke is continuing to prove he deserves to be considered among college football’s elite players in 2024 as On3 Sports has IU's quarterback fifth overall in their week 6 Heisman rankings.

On Saturday, Rourke and Indiana led the University of Indiana to a 41-24 victory over Northwestern on the road, improving their record to 6-0 the best record IU has had since 1967.

He completed 35-of-33 passes for 380 yards and three touchdowns as the Hoosiers moved to No. 18 in the latest AP Poll.

Rourke has now completed 73.6 percent of his passes while throwing for 1,752 yards, 14 touchdowns and two interceptions making him fifth currently in passing yards in the nation behind the big name signal callers like: Miami’s Cameron Ward, TCU’s Josh Hoover, Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart, and Syracuse’s Kyle McCord.

Rourke sits behind Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Miami's Cam Ward, Colorado's two-way star Travis Hunter and Ohio State freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.

Indiana (6-0) goes on a bye this week before returning to action on Saturday, October 19 against the Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-1) for their homecoming game kicking off at noon ET.
