Jordan Shaw: Cornerback

One of the reasons Cignetti, Haynes, and the defensive staff are looking for defensive backs after spring practice is that no position group had more attrition than the secondary room. Cornerback Jordan Shaw was a significant loss for the Hoosiers for several reasons. First, he's young. He joins the Wildcats' secondary room with three years of eligibility left.

While Shaw did not play much for the Hoosiers last season, he made the most of the opportunities given and was solid when he saw the field. He gives Washington—he followed Jed Fisch from Arizona—a young, moldable defensive back with potential.

Shaw did not give himself an opportunity to see where he'd fit before transferring. In this era of college football, defensive back depth is a must. It's hard to imagine that he would not have found a place to fit in Cignetti or Haynes' scheme.
