As we get closer to the Early Signing Period, there is a ton of movement via the transfer portal. Some teams fill much-needed holes via the portal, while others use the portal to either flip rosters or replace players because of attrition due to the transfer portal.

For the Hoosiers, it is a bit of the latter. Tom Allen's departure from the program meant that players would leave. The Hoosiers lost starting quarterback Brendan Sorsby to Cincinnati, for example. New head coach Curt Cignetti has made it a point to use the portal to replace some key players and add depth to the roster.

Cignetti understands the importance of the transfer portal in today's college football landscape. "You have to engage in the portal because everybody’s“ turning over at least 30% of their roster right now, "everybody's, "everybody'severybody's, "Cignetti said in his introductory news conference. ""If you don't, you got no chance."

Indiana needs the portal to add frontline starters, rotational players and depth. When the Hoosiers had an outside chance at making a bowl game, it was obvious they were wearing down toward the end of the season. That is something Cignetti needs to address.

Let's take a look at who's coming, who's going, and who's staying.
