In state rival Purdue loses another top recruit, Dawayne Galloway Jr
Columbus (Ohio) Walnut Ridge four-star defensive back Dawayne Galloway Jr has de-committed from in state rival Purdue. Galloway Jr has not yet been offered by Curt Cignetti and Indiana but has been on their radar for quite some time and with the Hooiser recent success on the field Galloway Jr could be a hot target for Indiana football soon.
“I have decommitted from Purdue after careful thought and consideration,” he wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to the staff and all involved. I am open to all programs interested in myself.”
He's the third player in the last week to re-open his recruitment after a verbal commitment to the Purdue Boilermakers which include LeBron Hill and 2026 four-star recruit Oscar Rios.
Galloway Jr is currently ranked as the No. 192 overall prospect in the 2025 class, No. 22 cornerback and No. 8 in the state of Ohio.
Here's a scouting analyst on Galloway Jr:
He brings excellent track speed to the football field. Speed shows up in his closing ability and also after he gets his hands on the ball both as a defensive back and a wide receiver or return man," wrote 247Sports recruiting analyst Allen Trieu. "Will be physical at the line and junior tape shows experience in off-man as well as press-man."
