2. NON-OUMAR BALLO MINUTES AT CENTER

With all due respect to incoming transfer seniors Langdon Hatton and Dallas James (and small-ball center Malik Reneau), Mike Woodson is certainly going to regularly preach the importance of staying out of foul trouble in the direction of Oumar Ballo.

Prior to James's freshly announced commitment, this was a much larger concern (no pun intended). However, the 7-footer has yet to showcase any semblance of steady play at the center spot. While having him serve a "break in case of emergency" type role in the frontcourt does not stand to hurt this team, it is difficult to determine how he and/or Hatton would fare were they to be forcefully thrust into escalated playing time.

3. EGOS

Egos are an omnipresent poison which constantly seek to destroy camaraderie, and these subtle sources of negative energy are most commonly affiliated with the NBA/professional ranks. However, with the widespread changes to the landscape of college basketball, these players now have much more at stake than before.

While there is no denying that there are 13 guys preparing to suit up for the Indiana men's basketball team this season, there is no telling which of them (if any) will make it to the NBA level. These guys are working together on the ultimate goal of any college basketball team: a championship. At the same time, each individual player is working their tail off in efforts to distinguish themselves from every other college basketball player (including their own teammates).

If these guys can each constantly keep the greater good of the team above their own personal pursuits, it will be clearly illustrated come March.

Keep going, Hoosiers!
