Indiana football did not have a player selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. No Hoosier heard their name called in the 2023 Draft, either. Standout linebacker Cam Jones signed with the Chiefs, staying on the roster through their Super Bowl run. This two-year drought is the longest since 2012-13.
Despite not having a player drafted, the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars quickly signed two standout defenders to Undrafted Free-Agent contracts. Linebacker Aaron Casey signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, and defensive tackle Andre Carter signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Several other players who took part in Indiana's pro day are also looking for contracts. Josh Henderson, defensive back Noah Pierre, wide receiver DeQuece Carter, long-snapper Sean Wracher, and running back Christian Turner are among the players looking for homes in the NFL. Casey was Indiana's lone NFL Draft Scouting Combine representative, and Carter participated in the Pro Day.
Casey began his career in Bloomington on special teams and as a backup linebacker. Once his career was over, however, he became one of the most productive linebackers in school history. After a 2022 season that earned him All-Big Ten Honorable Mention, he came back for a sixth season. Casey earned All-Big Ten First Team honors this past season.
Carter transferred from Western Michigan and became one of Indiana's most productive interior linemen, earning an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selection. Best wishes to Casey and Carter as they begin their journeys in the NFL.
