The Indiana Hoosiers hold their own fate in their hands right now when it comes to the NCAA Tournament. After two huge ranked wins over Michigan State and Purdue in the last two weeks, the Hoosiers have vaulted their way back into the March Madness conversation when they were on the brink of truly being eliminated.
Tonight, they face a Penn State team whose season will be done in the next week and a half. The Nittany Lions, at this point, most likely won't even make the Big Ten Tournament. This is a game Indiana can not afford to lose by any means. A loss tonight could be detrimental to the hope Indiana has of making the NCAA Tournament.
Against Penn State, the Hoosiers need to lean on Malik Reneau, who, since coming back from his knee injury, mines a couple games, has been on a tear and led this team in scoring. Luke Goode has also been lethal from beyond the three-point lines in the moments where it matters most. Indiana needs to get a lead early in this game and put it to bed early. A close game could also not look good for the Hoosiers. Get a lead, keep the lead, and send the Nittany Lions home with yet another loss.
