After taking a sack on the first play of the drive, Mendoza got into his bag and played like the Heisman favorite college football fans have seen all season long. Mendoza and his pass catchers were in total sync the rest of the drive, which included a huge catch to take the lead over the Nittany Lions.

On 3rd and goal, Mendoza was pressured yet again by the Penn State front and at the last second let the ball go high to the back of the end zone, where his receiver Omar Cooper Jr. jumped up, caught the ball, and made the most insane catch to get one foot in bounds.
